Motorhomes Terms
The following are the conditions of hire between the hirer and Next Car & Van Rental Ltd. The motorhome and all its equipment remain the property of Next Car & Van Rental Ltd at all times.
All drivers must meet the following mandatory criteria
• All drivers must be between 25 and 70 years of age with a minimum 3 years driving experience on a full UK licence or an International Driving licence.
• All licences must be free of endorsements except for parking and minor speeding offences and must be produced for inspection upon commencement of hire, both parts. Two other forms of identification should also be produced.
• Non UK licence holders may be required to pay an insurance surcharge, to be agreed at time of booking.
• Satisfactory completion of our insurance questionnaire at the start of the hire covering medical history, driving convictions, insurance refusals or loading and driving convictions. This must be completed by all drivers at time of rental. If you are in any doubt as to the ability to comply with insurers requirements contact us in advance with full details.
• Next Car & Van Rental reserve the right to refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning.
Insurance
• Any vehicle hired under this agreement may only be driven by the Hirer who has been accepted by Next Car & Van Rental Ltd at time of rental.
• A £500 fully refundable deposit payable in advance for any damage or loss for any one incident resulting in damage whilst the vehicle is on hire to you or in your care. This is both for internal and external fixtures and fittings and per incident.
• The motorhome is only insured for the contract period; therefore driving the motorhome outside of this period may result in both road traffic offences and making the Hirer fully responsible for any damage, injury or consequential loss after the expiry of the hire agreement.
• The Hirer shall be liable to pay the cost of any repair which the vehicle may have suffered as a result of the wilful or negligent action of the Hirer.
• Exclusions from the insurance cover include:-
1. Loss/damage or theft of the TV, radio, stereo equipment and aerials.
2. Any windows or windscreens or blinds.
3. Interior damage including burns to seats or carpets roof lining etc.
4. Any form of vandalism both to the interior and exterior.
5. Personal effects both outside and within the vehicle.
6. Any overhead damage resulting from any accident or incident. Overhead damage being 6’0 height from the ground.
7. Front and rear bumpers, overcab mouldings, roof lights, windscreen, wing mirrors and external doors are typical components excluded from the insurance.
• If the vehicle is to be left unattended at any time the hirer must ensure the motorhome is securely locked and parked in a safe, well lit location. The keys must not be left in the ignition at any time when the vehicle is unattended as this will deem the insurance void and the full responsibility of the Hirer.
Reservations
• A booking reservation of £200 per week is payable at time of reservation either by credit, debit card, cash or cheque. This will be deducted from the total hire charges.
• Full payment must be made 28 days prior to rental or with prior approval from Next Car & Van Rental Ltd.
Collection and Returns Policy
• Vehicle hire commencement is available any day excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays, normally between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. Any start time outside of these times must have prior approval from Next Car & Van Rental Ltd.
• Vehicle returns is between 8.00am and 11.00am on the agreed date. We ask this to be strictly adhered to as time will be required for the vehicle to be made available for the next hire.
• Failure to return the motorhome on time will incur a surcharge of £50 per hour or any part thereof together with any additional costs incurred by Next Car & Van Rental Ltd (i.e. compensation to the next hirer).
• The Hirer will be given a comprehensive vehicle explanation at commencement of hire. This will take 1-2 hours so please allow enough time for your onward journey. We advise to collect the motorhome 1 day prior to your holiday departure as to ensure a smooth start to your break.
• Up to 2 vehicle’s per rental may be left in our secure designated parking area for the duration of the hire but at the owners risk.
• The Hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and the contents free from any defect or damage and complete other than as specified by the Next Car & Van Rental Ltd at the commencement of hire. The Hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the premises.
• Next Car & Van Rental Ltd will make a charge of £50 should either the toilet cassette not be returned empty or the vehicle in an uninhabitable state.
• Smoking and pets are not permitted unless stated and agreed at time of booking. A valeting charge of £75 applies for a full valet upon vehicle return.
Vehicle’s Fuel
• The vehicle will be a supplied with a full tank of diesel. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank then a fuel surcharge of £1.35 per litre will be applied and deducted from the deposit.
• Two gas cylinders are provided at time of hire of which at least one will be completely full. The cost of any refills thereafter shall be the responsibility of the Hirer who should ensure both bottles of the same size and make as taken are returned with the vehicle. A charge of £25 for each empty bottle will be charged on return.
• The hirer is responsible for the regular checking of the oil and water levels and ensures the correct fluids are used.
• Tyre pressures should also be checked regularly. Any punctures or tyre damage is the Hirers responsibility.
Breakdown or Accidents
• In the unlikely event of a breakdown or an accident, an emergency service is at the disposal of the Hirer. In the first instance we ask that the Hirer contact Next Car & Van Rental Ltd who can organise and coordinate any assistance. The Hirer is authorised to spend up to £75 on minor component replacement i.e. bulbs, hoses belts etc but are not authorised to carry out work on faults or repairs. The costs will be refunded on submission of a valid VAT receipt. Note: The calling out of breakdown services can be very expensive, be aware that you will be charged in circumstances where the incident is a result of the Hirers negligence i.e. running out or incorrect fuel, loosing keys or locking them into vehicles etc.
• Next Car & Van Rental Ltd is not responsible for any consequential expenses or additional costs incurred in hiring alternative vehicles, late arrivals, missed ferries, accommodation, travel expenses or any third party claims in connection with a breakdown or accident.
Cancellations
• 8-6 weeks before the commencement of hire will result in loss of deposit.
• 6-2 weeks before the commencement of hire will result in loss of 50% of the hire charges.
• 2 weeks prior to hire or no shows will result in loss of complete hire charges except any damage deposit which will be refunded in full.
Availability
• Every effort will be made to ensure the vehicle reserved is available. If due to circumstances beyond Next Car & Van Rental Ltd’s control the vehicle reserved is not available a suitable alternative and size or larger will be made available at no additional cost to the Hirer. If an alternative is not available the liability of Next Car & Van Rental Ltd will be limited to the refund of any monies paid by the Hirer.
Traffic Offences
• Any and all fines incurred by the Hirer for the infringement of traffic offences are the full responsibility of the Hirer and should be paid at time in full.
• An administration charge of £30 plus VAT will apply plus any third party charges which relate to any infringements received during or after the period of rental.
Mileage
• There is no charge for mileage.
Winter Hire
• In the case of winter rentals, Next Car & Van Rental Ltd will not be held responsible in the event of any damage or inconvenience caused due to freezing weather conditions. This is the full responsibility of the Hirer.
General
• Next Car & Van Rental Ltd reserves the right to vary rates, conditions and specification at any time and without notice. All rentals are subject to the full terms and conditions printed on the reverse side of the rental agreement.
